Caleko Wheels Osteel was born in Portland, Oregon, at Providence Hospital, and his life has been nothing short of chaos and grit. Abandoned by his mother and raised in the infamous Waverly Children’s Home, Caleko found himself in the streets at an age when most kids worried about toys, he was worrying about survival.

As a homeless youth, he hauled everything he owned in a backpack and a battered record bag, doing chores at Portland’s legendary Paris Theater for a chance to touch pro-grade turntables he could not afford. Early sunday mornings spent sweeping floors turned into nights spent learning to move crowds, and the hum of bass became his lifeline.

The streets were merciless—prison time, drugs, and the struggles that come with being a homeless unwanted son, but the call of the stage never left him. Watching legends like Donald Glaude, Sandra Collins, BadBoy Bill, and AK1200, Caleko dreamed of having the crowed rocking to his mix, he studied every scratch, every mix, every way to make dancers lose control. He carved his own sound: deep cinematic samples ripped from movies, dirty scratches that hook the crowd, raw breakbeats, rolling basslines, and futuristic grooves that hit like steel on concrete.

His style is aggressive, unapologetic, and born from pain—a raver turned turntable assassin. Now, after years as an outcast from the very scene he helped to build, Caleko returns as Portland’s Prodigal DJ Son—back with a vengeance, ready to remind the city what a real DJ should sounds like.
